Operation: Islamic Freedom-- Phase II

[Global Islamic Republic]

With the major roadblock to Iran's (Or, now the Global Islamic Republic) unification of the Middle-east, Phase II begins with the invasion of the five nations to the south. Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates will quickly be invaded. The GIR has announced a declaration of war, as well as the option of surrendering now to instantly put an end to the bloodshed.

The two rested, veteran groups of the Iraqi invasion push forward in a move to surround the capitol city of Saudi Arabia. The third group, will be airlifted to three of the Arab nations, moving to quickly capture them. The fourth air group will strike at King Khalid's Military City, crippling Saudi Arabia's ability to strike back.

Desparate to try and break up the GIR efforts, loudspeakers throughout Saudi Arabian cities began to play records of the Iraqi-Iran war years ago, and the one that had just annexed the country next to it only days before this current invasion. Unable to mobilize and paralyzed within its cities, the Saudis began to call for other nations to aid. With the U.A.E., Qatar, Kuwait and the Saudi Republic all under attack, the four nations quickly rallied under one banner to defend against a common enemy. Rushing to form a military rally point to defend against an Iranian onslaught, each nation communicated accordingly, sending divisions that were being slaughtered to make a valiant last stand.

Secretly, only under the darkness of night which was illuminated by the country's burning cities and destroyed capitols, the nations met in the desert of Saudi Arabia, mobilizing hopefully under the Iranian's nose and bloodthirst.

When the time would be right, and when their nations would be crumbling, they would deliver a decisive strong punch at an incredibly weak point in the large organized Iranian onslaught.

With all of their capitols undefended, all groups advanced into their respective countries capturing them with almost no casualties. One exception is when an M-60 tank rolled over into a ditch, causing two nearby infantry to be crushed. With a respective garrison force in each capitol, they called for each nations surrender.

However, the suspicion of no military forces reached Iran, as they wondered why did not surrender yet they had no forces stationed in their countries. Reconnaissance planes were dispatched over Saudi Arabia, looking for the presence of the MIA forces.

The AA defenses throughout the base camp of the Saudi military base began to become alert on sights of reconassiance planes throughout the desert. Slowly, the coalition was gaining its full strength, and would hit the Islamic Republic when they least expected it.

Knowing that there would be some military force in Saudi, the two main Liberation Groups prepare for departure in Riyadh. The surveillance crafts would continue to scour the massive desert. A particular pair of aircrafts move toward the Ranyah military base, capturing the sight of the massive grouping of men. One immediately took a few preliminary sightings and headed back, while the other moved in closer for a more detailed look.

Immediately, ZSU-23 Shilka anti-aircraft guns fired upon the reconassiance aircraft, hoping to strike them both down before they could relay information. The entire army began to mobilize and set up defensive positions in the desert, hoping to drive back any Iranian onslaught.

The first aircraft, despite the evasive actions performed by the pilot, was quickly brought down. The second, however, managed to escape, although with heavy damage. The pilot quickly relayed the coordinates and strength to Islamic High Command, before crashing into the barren desert.

Ten minutes later, the Liberation Task Force in Riyadh moved out, Group A going south-west to Zalim and group B moving to Al Lidam in the south. The refueled and full strength Air Task Force moved quickly toward the coordinates, planning to do as much damage as they can.

In the Saudi desert, Arabian SCUD missile launchers and what could be gathered for AA defenses were being rapidly fired at any and all Islamic forces moving south, hopefully making a considerable dent in any of their forces and providing enough movement to be avoided from taking the large military base.

Unfortunately for the coalition forces, the pre-dawn darkness and the lack of surveillance data lead to rather inaccurate fire. However, one focused group of SCUDs managed to strike with deadly accuracy on the Third Infantry Corps, killing thousands. This did not hault the Islamic forces however, as they quickly took their positions around the military base. The massive Aerial Task Force met the base with full strength, unleashing their deadly payloads onto defences. Helicopter gunships trailed behind, picking off the defensive armour deployed there. They would bomb the base into oblivion, or a state close to such.

With no air support and obliterated anti-air defenses, the men looked to hide themselves in foxholes and small coverings littered throughout the desert. With no representation of government, they could only surrender themselves, and hundreds of soldiers began to throw makeshift white flags - some even made from their own underpants - into the air. Desparation for life was key.

Seeing the majority of the forces obviously wanting to surrender, the bombardment ceases as infantry forces sweep in to sieze the equipment of the remaining forces. The surviving coalition forces would be sent back to Iran for retraining and perhaps intergration into the Islamic Republic Army.

With the final major military force captured, the Republic gives the ultimatum to the five nations government to surrender and join the Islamic Republic.
