With the invitations sent and denied, the UBR began their short turn of freshly trained divisions and new materials from occupying forces into an effective war machine. Idalo had declared war on the two nations, and was now ready to separate them without giving either a direct chance to mobilize. The plan was called Operation Downfall, and was to be led by General Lethenski himself, the supreme commander of the UBR military. OOC: Ignore the pink line. The plan called for the entirety of the UBR's air force to bombard Macedonia into submission by commiting unrestricted warfare on not only military targets, but civilian ones as well. Afterwards, a small contingent of army soldiers would sweep through the countryside and force the Macedonians into the Balkanic Republic. Then, the UBR would muster its full strength and attack Bulgaria because of its definite mobilization, and will then incorporate it into the UBR after decimating its military. UBR ORDER OF BATTLE - - - Air Contigent - Macedonia - 20,000 Men manning 100 F-01 Partridge Fighter Aircraft in 1st Air Wing - 20,000 Men manning 100 F-01 Patridge Fighter Aircraft in 2nd Air Wing - 20,000 Men manning 100 F-01 Partridge Fighter Aircraft in 6th Air Wing - 20,000 Men manning 100 F-01 Partridge Fighter Aircraft in 7th Air Wing - 20,000 Men manning 100 B-01 Thunder Bomber Aircraft in 1st Bomber Air Wing - 20,000 Men manning 100 B-01 Thunder Bomber Aircraft in 2nd Bomber Air Wing - 20,000 Men manning 100 B-01 Thunder Bomber Aircraft in 3rd Bomber Air Wing Ground Contigent - Macedonia - 15,000 Men in 1st Cavalry Division - 15,000 Men in 2nd Cavalry Division - 15,000 Men in 3rd Cavalry Division - 15,000 Men in 4th Cavalry Division - 15,000 Men in 1st Mechanized Infantry Division - 15,000 Men in 1st Infantry Division - 15,000 Men manning 500 T-01 Budapest MBTs in 1st Armored Division - 15,000 Men manning 500 T-01 Budapest MBTs in 4th Armored Division The rest of the UBR military that can be pulled from occupaton duty is amassing along the Serbian-Bulgarian border. - - - - Through the black of night, the B-01 Thunder unleashed its payload on the city below - a single bomb; a declaration of war. Although it would do only minor damage to the city below, it was clear that the Macedonians should reconsider their stance of entry into the UBR.

The Macedonians refuses to join the UBR, though many know it to be a foolhardy move. They call upon the aid of nearby nations, such as Greece or Turkey for some military releif. Never the less, they have already mobilized the majority of their military. After the action in their northern neighbors, they knew that they soon would be next. Now, reservists and conscripts flock towards the capitol, hoping to be combat ready by the time they invade.

UBR has once again asked for an official Macedonian unconditional surrender.
...In the day sky, the Macedonians rushed to and fro about their various concerns, arming AA weapons which would be imprevious to the UBR's stealth technology.
...At night, it was different. The moon, hidden in the clouds, was unable to illuminate the large stealth aircraft, and they conducted thousands of bombing runs on the city - 300 stealth bombers and 400 fighters, each capable of delivering AGM-01 missiles, which had a 40 pound blast fragmentation and could decimate office buildings in one critical hit. They also had a range of 20 miles, making them perfect for UBR helicopters to launch them if the air force had not dones it job.
Throughout the first official night of the war, over 2,039 sorties were being flown, and munition was to be completely dispensed on every single sortie - and had been - except for one instance of an F-01 Partridge having a small mechanical failure in its bomb release systems, which returned to base and had it fixed immediately.
The air campaign had begun.

Propaganda from High Command seemingly worked, as very few units cracked from the pressure. The forces in the capitol began to spread out in a defensive perimiter, trying to lessen the damage of the bombers. AA forces however, panicked and began firing randomly into the sky, even if they didn't have a target. The Honour Guard stood proudly at the front of the ruined Capitol, rallying the morale of nearby troops. The Macedonians will be bombed to death or die defending their country either way.

The 4th and 5th Helicopter air wings from Budapest were now too conducting night raids against the Macedonians, and despite stamped out reports that an F-01 Partridge had been shot down by random fire from Macedonians, the raids continued, and would hopefully pound the Macedonians into submission.
Across the border, large ART-01 Unicorns were in poisition to continue the bombardment after sunset. They were guarded closely by the Cavalry divisions which would sweep in soon after the intense destruction, ready to move in at a moment's notice.

With the capitol in ruins, several of the Conscripted and Reserve infantry move to neighboring cities to protect their flank. Convoys of ammunition and supplies rush to the military base in Skopje, providing the outclassed and rather damaged AA batteries with the ammo to keep up the fire. The one wing of fighters moved in, making sure to only strike the helicopter groupings.

Losses:
2 Mi-24 HIND Helicopters 1 F-01 Partridge
Immediately after hearing of Macedonian fighter intervention, the F-01s delivered their AAM-01 missiles against any Macedonian aircraft, confident of scoring direct hits and abolishing the Macedonian fighters before they could bring any more Mi-24 HIND helicopters.
Outside the border, the artillery finally began to light up, dropping 155mm shells into various army positions throughout the Macedonian country. The 1st through 4th Cavalry divisions, 1st Mechanized infantry, 1st Infantry, and the 1st and 4th Armored were ready to completely clean the area of Macedonian military forces and incorporate the country into the UBR.

Every hour, more and more infantry divisions lost their faith, and stomach. And for some, their heads. Over half of the conscripted infantry has already deserted, fleeing to the south. The less damaged artillery battalions began counter-firing upon the enemy artillery, despite being outclassed. They at least had numbers in an artillery battle.

LOSSES:
- 4 men in 1st Artillery Division - 1 artillery piece; ART-01 Unicorn
At long last, the forces from the UBR began to pour across the Macedonian border like water from a cup too small to hold a large quantity. 1,000 T-01 MBTs, the 1st Infantry, 1st Mechanized, and 1st through 3rd Cavalry began to secure Skopje, leaving the 4th Cavalry behind to guard the artillery which was bombarding the entire nation. For Macedonia, the war was over.

The war for Macedonia was dawning oh so quickly, but not yet over. Macedonia refused to fall so eagerly like the other Balkan states. The entrenched forces stood their ground, as they all surrounded to their lifeline, the remaining AA defence in the ruins of the city. The few armour units they had were placed inside the ruins to defend them, and they will to the death. The honour guard met the 1st Mechanized head on, with several other infantry battalions. They charged forward to meet them, and possibly stall for those precious minutes that seemed so precious to the defenders

In what seemed like clockwork, automatic cannons on the hundreds of T-01 Budapests storming through the city lit up in a fury of smoke and rounds. Using its active close-in-combat defense system, the T-01 was an effective killing machine not because of its large chemical rifled cannon, but because of the numerous gun mounts all over the machine-gun. The co-operator, manning the machine-gun in the co-axial, delivered lethal punches to infantry-men trying to take an advantage over the tank, while the men worked frantically to reload the rifled cannon and fire the weapon.
Outside of the Macedon-Serbo border, the 1st and 2nd Guards divisions were beginning to mobilize to wipe out any form of Macedon defenders and guerillas. The 1st fighter wing, after a brief night's rest, was back in the air, unleashing hundreds of AGM-01s at air defense divisions in Skopje. The ART-01 unicorns were now being reinforced by more artillery from the 3rd and 4th UBR artillery divisions, and were continuing to bombard ahead of UBR forces to quell Macedonian resistance. Brigades upon brigades charged the UBR onslaught, only to be put out by rifle and machine gun fire.
Casualties:
1st Infantry - 1,100 1st Cavalry - 850 2nd Cavalry - 300 3rd Cavalry - 550 1st Mechanized - 600

Even the brave and courageous know the difference between a noble stand a bloodbath. With almost all senior officers and political figures running scared or death, the news of the surrender was said by a Brigadier General. The Macedonian people have fallen, along with the rest of the Balkan people.

At last, the border assault had begun. On a front more than 45 miles in length, spearheaded by the UBR's F-01 Partridge and B-01 bombers, the vast army divisions poured through, eager to capture Sofia and end this war. The first call was to capture and/or destroy any chance of Bulgaria to intervene directly with artillery. The 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th Cavalry divisions with devoted air support from the 1st air wing would arrive in force east of the city limits of the capitol, and find and fix the enemy for a swift flank to hopefully destroy any presence of artillery. The second idea was for the 1st, 7th and 8th Armored divisions to swing north and south to secure Sofia, while the 2nd Armored along with its APC counterparts stayed with the main column of mechanized infantry and guard divisions, spearheading directly into the capitol and asking for an immediate surrender. As the divisions waited to enter the city and the cavalry arrived in the east, ART-01 artillery cannons began to light up Sofia in a dazzling display of firepower and military might. The 1st, 7th and 8th Armored divisions began to move from their areas to flank the city, and with luck, it would be flanked with low casualties. Red = Bulk of Army Force Green = 1st, 7th and 8th Armored Blue = Cavalry Divisions Purple = Artillery
